According to  Circular No.43/2014/TT-BYT Regulating the Management of Functional Foods, the processed food (jelly, drink, etc ) with added amino acids is categorized as a supplemented food. Therefore, the used of amino acid in processed food is permitted to be used in Vietnam.

There is no permitted food ingredient list in Vietnam. However, there have permitted list of food additive in Vietnam as prescribe in Circular No. 24/2019/TT-BYT Regulates the Management and Use of Food Additives.
