There is no a synthetic flavor list in Thailand. According to the Notification of the Ministry of Public Health (No.223) B.E. 2544 (2001) RE: Flavoring agents, the flavoring agents are divided into 3 types as follows:-
• Natural flavor
• Natural Identical flavor
• Artificial flavor /Synthetic flavor means flavoring agent which is not discovered in natural product normally used for human consumption and includes synthesized flavoring agent which contains natural flavoring agent or imitate of natural flavoring agent
However, there is no specific regulation stipulating maximum limit allowed to be added in food products for all types of flavor mentioned above.
